Oakland Raiders
One of the NFL's arch-enemies, Raiders owner and former coach (and former AFL commissioner) Al Davis insitutionalized an 'us versus them' mentality within the franchise. The Raiders were the meanest team in the 70s and proudly wore the 'most penalized team in the NFL' appellation for many years. The silver and black moved to Los Angeles in 1982, returning in 1995. NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle blocked the move, leading to a nasty court battle between Davis and Rozelle. Davis won.
Founded in 1960 as the Oakland Raiders in the AFL. Moved to Los Angeles in 1982. Moved back to Oakland in 1995.
