See, unlike the Washington Redskins, THIS is how you pay homage to a native culture. Chiefs. Not Redskins. Not Redmen (St. John's old moniker). Not Scalping Savages with Syphilis. The Chiefs! The helmet design has held up pretty much since forever. Why not? It looks great. The team was founded by Lamar Hunt, architect of the AFL.

Founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans in the AFL. Moved to Kansas City in 1963 and became the Kansas City Chiefs.
